Rape and Domestic Violence Information Center (RDVIC) began in 1973 as a group of volunteers working to educate and intervene in issues concerning sexual assault. Since that time the services have developed to include any survivor of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, and stalking. RDVIC offers a variety of free and confidential services, including a 24-hour crisis hotline, group and individual counseling, community education, prevention education, emergency shelter, advocacy, and support services. Advocacy and support services are offered in the hospital setting, civil legal system, and criminal justice system. Additional support can be offered in many forms to meet the unique needs of individuals. RDVIC provides services from offices located in Monongalia, Taylor, and Preston counties. Volunteers are utilized in a variety of capacities and are encouraged to contact the office in their area.
