The Rape and Domestic Violence Information Center provides free violence prevention programming to Pre-K through 12th grade.
RDVIC’s Prevention Education program can help schools build their capacity to conduct violence prevention through teacher training, agency liaisons, and forums. Programs can be tailored to the needs of the school requesting a presentation. We conduct programs that define domestic violence, address signs and symptoms, look at offender behavior, and direct students to appropriate resources. Students receive handouts that address the most pertinent information shared during class.
Program Benefits:
- helps to make schools safe and supporting environments
- improves children’s social, behavioral, and academic success
- decreases the amount of time and energy spent on resolving conflicts
and managing disruptive/violence behavior in and outside classrooms - fulfills requirements of WV Content Standards and Objectives Policies (CSO’s)
- fun and interactive
- comprehensive lessons
- research-based and effective
- did we mention it’s FREE?
